Charge Mommy Books
I know both sides of publishing: the big-publisher editor's desk and everything a self-publisher has to do.
Most editors have seen publishing from one side. I've seen it from both: as an editor at the biggest children's book publishers, and as a self-publisher who has produced a whole line of books from start to finish.
The big-publisher side
I have nearly twenty years' experience at some of the world's top publishing companies, including Penguin Random House and Disney. I have edited thousands of traditionally published and self-published children's books, including Hide and Hug Olaf, which sold over 400,000 copies. I'm also the author of more than 100 books of my own.
The self-publishing side
I also founded Charge Mommy Books, my own children's publishing company. It publishes Charge into Reading, a successful line of children's books, and I produced every one of them the way you will produce yours:
- Hiring and directing illustrators, from first sketches to final art
- Working with designers on covers, page layouts, and a consistent look across a series
- Finding printers, getting quotes, and choosing between offset printing and print on demand
- Getting the details right: ISBNs, barcodes, and copyright pages
- Selling the books, including publishing on Amazon

What that means for your book
At a big publisher, a whole team handles each of those steps. When you self-publish, you are the team. I edit your manuscript with a big-publisher eye, and I can tell you what comes next: who to hire, what to ask for, and what to watch out for.
When you work with me, you get an editor who knows not just how to get a book to the printer, but what happens after it goes.
